It only took one game to show Golden Knights fans why this prospect is valuable

Okay, okay.

This is about Carl Lindbom and his goaltending greatness. The Swedish netminder has risen through the Vegas Golden Knights' ranks in recent years, boosting his value with teams like Farjestad in the SHL. Last season was no different with the Henderson Silver Knights, where he posted a GAA of 2.65 and a save percentage of .912.

But he didn't stop there. In fact, he provided a glimpse of the Golden Knights' future in net, putting up a stellar performance against the San Jose Sharks. He stopped 10 of 11 shots and stood his ground against NHL players like Jeff Skinner and Will Smith.

Not bad for a rookie, eh?

When you're faced with the pressure of handling NHL players both in practice and during regular season games, it adds another notch under your belt. Of course, that's nothing new for the rising prospect, who's made it a habit of exceeding expectations every season. He's grown comfortable and confident while playing in North America, becoming a star prospect in the process.

That could be enough to complete an entire upheaval of the Golden Knights' goaltender position in the next season or two. No, Adin Hill isn't going anywhere unless he has an utter meltdown. Still, you can't discount Lindbom providing stability and security at the position for years. That's especially true with a loaded goaltender room in the minor leagues.

Why one game showed the Vegas Golden Knights fanbase (even the casuals!) what Carl Lindbom was made of

Watching the Golden Knights practice last week, there was something unique about Lindbom in net. He made tough shots from NHL players into saves, turning them into effortless plays. The Swede's glove was quick and efficient, complementing the fluid angles he took inside the crease.

It was an impressive display of confidence and ease on the ice. He looked like he played in the NHL and established himself as a seasoned veteran. That was on full display on Sunday against the Sharks, where he moved effortlessly to make key stops.

Watch how he follows the play and watches the oncoming attacker. He takes away the space and watches for the puck, taking away any potential open space that attacker might seek out. It's an incredible talent that most goaltenders would die for, specifically if they're trying to make the NHL.

What's more is he's rather undersized for a goaltender, standing at 6'1". Those quick crease movements make up for a lack of size, quickly erasing any space created by the opponents. Such improvisation has become his hallmark, turning him into one of the best prospects within the organization.

While that sounds nice, Lindbom will spend another season in the minors, most likely with the Silver Knights. The roster, sans a few minor battles, is set in stone. That's the beauty of having a Stanley Cup-contending team, for you know what you have and who will operate within the system.

Here's hoping Lindbom can become an integral part of that run.
