Cold: Noah Hanifin
When the Golden Knights acquired Noah Hanifin from the Calgary Flames in March, the expectation was to have another puck-moving defenseman on the team. The Boston native would join his friend, Jack Eichel, and improve the transition attack and power play, among other things.
However, that hasn't panned out as hoped. Hanifin has three goals and nine assists in his first 27 games. Although those numbers aren't bad (he's on pace for nine goals and 27 assists), there have been times when he's been notably absent.
His last point came on November 25 against the Philadelphia Flyers, where he scored an assist on a third-period goal by Tanner Pearson. Since then, he's gone scoreless in his last five games.
In fact, his month of October left a lot to be desired. Here, he only had three assists for the entire period, consisting of a five-game stretch without a point. The Golden Knights need more from him, especially after signing him to an eight-year, $58.8 million extension.
