The soundtrack for Detroit
Metro Detroiters (and Detroit Red Wings fans) are a proud bunch, taking pride in seeing their city flourish. Therefore, it's imperative that you have a soundtrack that matches that vibe. It's a playlist for all generations, where Vegas Golden Knights fans can partake in the city's glory days and what's to come.
Eminem
What? Did you expect anybody else on this list? It's MANDATORY that you have Slim Shady on your playlist as you travel to Little Caesar's Arena. You're not in the Detroit mood if you don't have this in your playlist. That includes "Without Me," "Shake That," and "Just Lose It." In fact, you can find his verse (okay, it's not a verse as much as it is mocking the other team) in the goal horn.
Imagine this playing during the Stanley Cup playoffs. It'd be like watching Pavel Datsyuk or Steve Yzerman score the series-clinching goal.
Aretha Franklin
I would add Madonna to the list. However, she's just... weird. Would you want to see Aretha Franklin bathe in milk and look like Marilyn Manson? I didn't think so. The "Queen of Soul" has pure music that harkens back to the 1960s, including "Respect" and "You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman." I guarantee Madonna's got nothing on the legendary Franklin.
The Four Tops
A Motown classic that I love is the Four Tops. This legendary group has plenty of upbeat songs that you and your family can sing along to. That includes "Can't Help My Self," "Ain't No Woman," and "Reach Out I'll Be There." What a better way to honor the city's past than old-school music from Motown?
KISS
Fun fact: This song would play before every Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings game during the older days. It's called "Detroit Rock City" and it represented the city's glory days when the auto industry was at its height. Of course, there's also "I Was Made For Loving You" and "Rock And Roll All Nite." But go with "Detroit Rock City" as your go-to jam.
Bob Seger
If you're looking for old-school rock that hits home, look no further than Bob Seger. He has plenty of rockin' jams, including "Old Time Rock & Roll," "Like A Rock" and "Turn The Page." By the way, "Turn The Page" had a wonderful cover by Metallica that's also worth a listen.
