Draft season is upon us, which means Golden Knights fans are seeing the same things pop up. They might see the usual suspects in the mock drafts and familiarize themselves with the prospects. However, some things are totally different.

That's perfectly okay! Everyone likes some change in their lives. It stinks living the same monotonous routine in our lives and can leave us bored. Nobody like boredom, you know.

Luckily, the latest mock draft offers some sense of variety for the average Golden Knights fan. Sure, there are some familiar faces sticking around. Heck, they should probably look into buying a house in Las Vegas at this point.

But! There are some differences. First, there are different names in this iteration. You won't know who's who in certain spots. There's also one player who's the same, only he's in a different spot. It shows that Kelly McCrimmon is in for a wild ride.

That's what makes this version even more fun. The suspense of seeing something different amid static nature will have you on the edge of your seat! Click here to check out the latest mock draft.

The Vegas Golden Knights have a defenseman theme again... with a twist.

Death, taxes, and Carson Cameron featured in a Golden Knights mock draft. What more is there to say about the defenseman at this point? He's probably got a sleeping bag in Kelly McCrimmon's office! Be sure to say "Hello" to the Peterborough Petes star, Las Vegas!

Of course, there is his friend, Carter Amico. The 6'5" giant came up as the 58th overall pick, serving as a de facto replacement for a potential Nicolas Hague trade.

Don't forget about Karl Annborn, who was also featured in this mock draft. Cameron brought his friends from previous mock drafts over for a Vegas-style party. But there's one major difference.

Annborn was selected 187th overall in this version. The first version had him going 64th overall. That's a stark contrast to the previous iteration, which ranked him so generously.

It's also a testament to the literal crapshoot that Kelly McCrimmon faces this year. Nothing is certain this time around, leaving him to choose from whoever's left over. But that's not all that's different.

One notable name emerged for the Golden Knights

The 91st overall pick saw a different kind of defenseman picked. His name? Jacob Rombach and he's a 6'6" blue liner from the University of Minnesota.

His offensive numbers might not spark too much interest. After all, the most goals he scored in his amateur career are nine with Spring Lake Park High School in Minnesota (2022-23). However, that doesn't mean he stinks.

The 18-year-old is big on hockey fundamentals, ranging from positioning his feet properly to scanning over his shoulders. Rombach is also structurally sound defensively, retrieving the puck and making the necessary plays.

Could he also be a replacement for Hague? That depends on whether he adds more bulk to his frame. Weighing 201 pounds for someone his size doesn't have as much impact as someone who's 230 pounds.

The moral of this mock draft? The more things change, the more they stay the same. That can range from different players to different philosophies. One thing's certain, though. The hockey gods are telling the Golden Knights to draft another Nicolas Hague.
