Vegas Golden Knights fans have asked about William Karlsson's whereabouts for the longest time possible. Since his last game on November 8 against the Anaheim Ducks, fans have wondered how severe his lower-body injury was. After all, he's one of the most beloved figures in franchise history.

Well, fans finally got the news they were looking for on Monday. The Golden Knights center skated on the ice with the Silver Knights squad, donning a red no-contact jersey in the process. That's right, Golden Knights fans. You're getting an Original Misfit coming back into the fold.

Granted, that comes with a little caveat. He's on track to become available during the second round at some point. That means that fans shouldn't expect the Original Misfit to return during the current first round matchup.

Yes, that sucks, considering the Golden Knights could use some defensive help against the Utah Mammoth. However, it's another veteran piece that's coming back into the fold. This season, Karlsson had four goals and three assists in 14 games, making him one of the most important lower-line players around.

Also, consider the following. Last postseason, he had three goals and three assists in 11 games, making him one of the most important offensive pieces around. Vegas will need as much offensive firepower as possible, which is where Karlsson comes into the fold. But that's not all he does, though.

He's also a terrific special teams player, functioning well on the penalty kill and the power play. The Swedish center can take away space and make clean exits. He also has the offensive awareness to function within the power play, scoring numerous goals and making fancy plays in the process.

Again, that comes with the caveat of winning their current matchup against the Mammoth. Right now, the Golden Knights are backed into a corner, which puts the entire thing on ice. If the Golden Knights lose? The entire thing becomes moot. But if they win? Watch out world because Vegas is coming.
