Success breeds new opportunities to expand and showcase your product. That's especially true when you've made two Stanley Cup Final appearances in your first seven seasons. Throw in making the Stanley Cup playoffs every season except for one (2021-22) and you have a team that's quickly becoming a global icon.
That's the mission Bill Foley has as he hopes to turn the Vegas Golden Knights into a worldwide franchise, similar to the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Lakers. After all, you can't just sit on your hands after winning the Stanley Cup in 2023, can you? Why not build off that and go eastward to Arizona?

That's right, fans. The Golden Knights are making their third trip to the Grand Canyon State on March 27-29. It will consist of free youth clinics and watch parties, including a game on March 28 against the Chicago Blackhawks. They will visit the cities of Scottsdale, Phoenix, Glendale, and Chandler. Core Hydration will sponsor the trip.
Since the team announced a broadcasting expansion to their neighboring state with 55 games on Scripps Sports affiliates Arizona 61 and Arizona 58, Foley and crew have wasted no time jumping on new opportunities. But what makes this trip unique compared to past iterations? What can fans expect when the team returns for some heated action?
What's different this time around?
The Vegas Golden Knights have made the most of taking in Arizona since the Coyotes became the Utah Team With No Nickname. Now, people in Arizona can watch the team in gold on Scripps Sports and fill the hockey void left by the Coyotes. So what's the difference with this upcoming trip?
For one, there's a pair of on-ice girls clinics happening. Young ladies can get the opportunity to branch out to the NHL club, getting a nice gig for the future. There's also a LosVGK watch party for Spanish-speaking fans. The Golden Knights continue their expansion into the language community as well, appealing to Spanish-speaking diehards.
The team made prior visits to the Phoenix area in October and December, continuing their global expansion. Fans will see Chance the Gila Monster there along with special guests Megan Bozek (U.S. Olympian and VGK broadcaster) and Jorge Lopez (VGK Spanish-speaking broadcaster).
The Vegas Golden Knights have a "Golden" opportunity to take over the NHL universe
Expanding to other parts of the United States and world is part of Bill Foley's plan. He hopes to turn the Golden Knights into a household name similar to what teams like Alabama football, Duke men's basketball, and the New York Yankees have become. Many NHL fans already hate the hockey club for their early success right out the gate, so it makes sense for him to strive for that.
Of course, that means continuing the on-ice success as well. You can bet Kelly McCrimmon wants another Stanley Cup or two to add to his collection. He'll do whatever it takes to make that happen, especially with the possibility of Shea Theodore hitting LTIR. Could fans see a return of a former "Misfit?" Stay tuned.
In the meantime, getting the name out there will help achieve Foley's mission. The upcoming trip on March 27-29 will convert more people to the franchise, turning them into die-hards. You can't argue with that, especially if you're already a raving success.
