Pete DeBoer has had a roller coaster ride of a coaching career. He's won two conference titles, one with the New Jersey Devils and one with the San Jose Sharks. He's also made seven semifinal appearances throughout his tenured coaching career. Let's not forget he's 9-0 in Game 7's in his coaching career.

One of those stops includes the Vegas Golden Knights, where he has a record of 98-50-12. Overall? He's 662-447-152. DeBoer also has an all-time playoff record of 88-73.

One would think that his unheralded playoff success would equate to a Stanley Cup. After all, he gave up a lucrative career in a criminal law firm. Certainly, that'd be the case, right?

Sports can be cruel and unforgiving to some people. For some, that consists of losing five of seven semifinals. However, that might change for the Dallas Stars head coach. He defeated the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday, 2-1, leading the Stars to their third straight appearance.

That's good and all. However, it doesn't mean a thing if the former Golden Knights head coach can't get past the semifinals. He'll have to beat the Edmonton Oilers to get there, though. As the Golden Knights can attest, that won't be easy to do.

But will Las Vegas back him up? Or will they shun him because of past sins? Here's the vibe check on DeBoer in pursuit of his first Stanley Cup.

Are Golden Knights fans behind Pete DeBoer's pursuit of his first Stanley Cup?

Did you know this is the first regular season in Golden Knights history where Pete DeBoer isn't involved in a significant way? That includes a playoff series and being behind the bench for Vegas. That streak ended at eight seasons when the Golden Knights were eliminated by the Oilers.

Now comes the challenging part for the former Golden Knights' head coach: Beating Edmonton. The good news is he has a red-hot Mikko Rantanen and reliable goaltending with Jake Oettinger.

DeBoer has his fair share of supporters from the Vegas side. Some fans are pulling for him to get his first Stanley Cup.

However, that isn't the consensus among Golden Knights fans. Some were disappointed with how the former Vegas head coach handled certain things with the team (WARNING: STRONG LANGUAGE).

Other fans aren't actually pulling for DeBoer. They're hoping to see their hated rivals go down (which is totally understandable).

Some Golden Knights fans won't even bother with the two Western Conference teams. Instead, they've settled on the Eastern Conference.

Some aren't even rooting for DeBoer at all! They're going for *GASP* the Oilers!

Regardless of what happens, the Western Conference Final will be a major test for the former Golden Knights head coach. He must figure out how to contain Edmonton's newfound forward depth and unleash Mikko Rantanen. Will he finally get his first Stanley Cup? Stay tuned!
