Vegas Golden Knights fans have waited for news regarding Adin Hill and William Karlsson. They've wanted to see two beloved figures back on the ice, invoking memories of the classic 2023 Stanley Cup run. Would Bruce Cassidy break some good news to go with the news regarding Pavel Dorofeyev and Jeremy Lauzon?
Well... not really. Wade Barrett, you know what to do.
The head coach confirmed that both players still have the week-to-week designation. Hill remains on long-term injured reserve, while Karlsson is placed on good (or bad) ol' injured reserve.
What stinks about this is that Hill came off a career year with the Golden Knights from last season. The Calgary native had a GAA of 2.47, a save percentage of .906, and four shutouts. It looks like he won't match those numbers this season, especially with a GAA of 2.73 and a save percentage of .888.
The latest I've heard on Adin Hill is that the hope is he'll be able to return in mid to late January.

Haven't really been able to nail down a good timeline on Karlsson. https://t.co/g3MGsdKzzh
The hope, and that's the catch here, is that Hill will return by mid to late January. It's highly unlikely that he'll be an Olympian this time, which is a shame. It marks a fall from grace to where fans are wondering whether he'll be traded. Talk about being down bad, as the kids these days would say (Rhymes Like Dimes!).
As for Karlsson, it stings for the Golden Knights, especially without a prominent depth scorer. He has four goals and three assists this season (14 games), providing offensive muscle for the middle of the lineup.
You'd want a guy like Karlsson to take on those tougher players, too. Names like Leon Draisaitl and Auston Matthews come to mind, where they're always a threat to score. Without the Swedish center, who's going to deter them from getting to the middle of the ice? Plus, there's no firm timeline for his return... yet.
Look, I know that not having Hill and Karlsson stinks. It's like not having a good friend around, specifically after a bad fight. However, the Golden Knights can take solace in knowing that they're getting healthier, starting with a Russian wunderkind and a scrappy defenseman.
