Remember when a Vegas Golden Knights fan gave a hot take involving Mitch Marner and Jack Eichel? The take involved Mitch Marner getting a higher rating in NHL 27 than Jack Eichel. Well, it seems that this prediction didn't come true (thus, the hot take designation, according to EA Sports).
The video game company released its ratings for the NHL's best players and, lo and behold, Eichel got a rating of 94, making him the league's seventh-best center. Marner got a rating of 93, putting him as the league's fourth-best right winger. However, they weren't alone in the Golden Knights' realm.

Golden Knights' Captain Mark Stone was tied for eighth with Cole Caufield, with a rating of 90. That makes three Golden Knights with a rating of 90 or higher for the video game. But there's also a former Golden Knights prospect in the rankings.
That would be Nick Suzuki, who currently plays for the Montreal Canadiens. Last season, the former Vegas farmhand scored 29 goals and 72 assists, amounting to 101 points (good for sixth in the NHL). The center has 167 goals and 309 assists during his seven-year NHL career, making him one of the league's fastest-rising stars.
There might've been some past regrets about trading Suzuki for Max Pacioretty. But the Golden Knights would be glad to have Eichel, Marner, and Stone make the "90 or higher" list for the upcoming season. It shows the team has insane forward depth, which will make them Stanley Cup contenders for the upcoming season.
The NHL 27 ratings show that the Vegas Golden Knights will once again be a threat for the Stanley Cup
Last season, Jack Eichel scored 90 points (27 goals and 63 assists) for the Vegas Golden Knights. Marner had 80 points (24 goals and 56 assists) in the first year of his Vegas residency, while Stone had 73 points (28 goals and 45 assists) in 60 games. Those numbers were tremendous and led the Golden Knights to yet another Stanley Cup Final appearance.
Those numbers will also boost the fanbase's confidence in the team doing tremendous damage for the upcoming season. The Golden Knights are banking heavily on these three players to produce yet another productive season. That means staying healthy and setting up your teammates for incredible scoring opportunities.
Of course, that's not the only piece to the huge puzzle that's as big as the Las Vegas Strip. It's also a blue line that must play to its potential and protect the goaltending. It's also contingent on the goaltending staying healthy and not letting in soft goals. If everything goes right in this regard, the three-headed monster could have some company in the "90 or higher rating" club.
That would be great news for the Golden Knights heading into next season and beyond. But it would be even better if Vegas could cap that off with a Stanley Cup parade heading down the Strip. After all, that's the expectation for Bill Foley and company.
