The power play being successful
Part of Jack Eichel being an absolute unit comes on the power play. The center has 11 (!) power play assists, turning the group into the second-best in the NHL. He's elevated his fellow members to unprecedented levels, turning them into scoring machines.
Names like Tomas Hertl (six goals, four assists on the unit), Mark Stone (two goals, six assists), and Pavel Dorofeyev (five goals) have all seen their production go near or hit career-highs. In turn, it's led to the Vegas Golden Knights feeling fat and happy atop the Pacific Division.
That power play success will be useful if the Golden Knights continue their trek toward the Stanley Cup playoffs. Last season, the Florida Panthers had a good power play, scoring on 23.5% of their opportunities. In 2021-22, the Colorado Avalanche had a percentage of 24%. If the Golden Knights can replicate this success and continue capitalizing on those opportunities, they can hoist another Stanley Cup come June.
