3 reasons why this season's Vegas Golden Knights are better than the 2022-23 team

It might seem like a crazy thing to say. But this season's Vegas Golden Knights team looks better than the one that won the Stanley Cup.

Everyone is doing their part

There's been an unexplained phenomenon within the Vegas Golden Knights organization this season. For example, the defensemen are scoring 20 goals this season, led by Noah Hanifin (six goals). However, the blue line isn't the only group pulling their weight.

Nobody expected Keegan Kolesar (nine goals) and Brett Howden (15 goals) to achieve career-highs at the halfway point, either. Yet, here we are, with the lower lines carrying the load. It's refreshing to see both players get more involved, earning them contract extensions in the process.

Even Ivan Barbashev (15 goals, 30 points) saw a renaissance before sustaining an upper-body injury against the Minnesota Wild on December 12. If the Golden Knights can get scoring from the most unconventional places, it'll lead to another Stanley Cup parade in June and more parties at Toshiba Plaza. Better tell Mike Tyson to bring his pet tiger!
