Special teams has looked better
Now, the Vegas Golden Knights had one power play goal in their past 13 attempts before Saturday's game. That's drier than an attractive woman at a bar listening to a random dude's pickup lines. However, the power play is better than the 2022-23 version (20.3%).
This year's iteration is seeing the Golden Knights with a power play percentage of 24.7% entering Saturday. There have been many reasons for this uptick in production, including Victor Olofsson (five power play goals). But the main reason has been Tomas Hertl.
The two-time All-Star already has seven goals and four assists on the unit, making him a tough matchup. While teams are figuring out how to take Hertl's presence in the middle, the unit has two bigger bodies to work with in Hertl and Stone. If Bruce Cassidy can adjust the group to incorporate the Czech forward in a better way, it'll help the Golden Knights unleash the unit once more.
