Coming off a clean sweep homestand including Sunday’s matinee contest against the Canadiens, the Golden Knights begin a five game road trip starting Tuesday evening against the Florida Panthers on Tuesday evening. With William Carrier being put on the shelf indefinitely due to a lower body injury, Pavel Dorofeyev was recalled from the Henderson Silver Knights.

In their last meeting on January 12 in Vegas, the Golden Knights defeated the Panthers 4-2 in a game where the Golden Knights scored three goals in the third but  it was also the last time Mark Stone was in action. Stone exited the game with an upper body injury in the first period of the game. The Golden Knights have a 7-1-2 record in their last ten games while the Panthers have had an up and down stretch where they win one game and lose the next on sync.

Over the last five games, the Golden Knights have seen some solid production come from Jack Eichel, Ivan Barbashev and Shea Theodore. Eichel over that same time period, has collected six points with four of them coming in the form of goals. Eetu Luostarinen, like Eichel, has six points in his last five games for the Panthers. Carter Verhaeghe and Matthew Tkachuk have been equally as productive with three goals and five assists respectfully.

The Panthers are just three points out of the wild card in the Eastern Conference joining both Ottawa and Buffalo outside looking in at the Penguins and Islanders. In their previous game, they defeated the Penguins in Sunrise on Saturday by a 4-1 score.
