Measuring Marchessault for the 2022-23 season
An original Golden Knight, Jonathan Marchessault has for the most part, been one of the most consistent players on the roster. And to be frank, there is no reason to expect anything less or more out of the Cap-Rouge, Quebec native. When you put him out on to the ice, he will go all out for the team. Furthermore, he is one of the key locker room leaders that that Golden Knights have embraced for since the start of the franchise.
This is a part of a series of profile features on the complete Golden Knights roster heading into the 2022-23 season.

What we can expect from Marchessault in 2022-23
The one thing that we know is that Marchessault, barring injury, will likely play on an everyday basis. Most likely, he will be positioned on either the second or third line, depending on what feeling Bruce Cassidy has presented. Furthermore, expect to see the right-hander get his shots in on the second power play line and should see some fill in time on the main power play line too. It is certain that Cassidy will experiment with the line up more than what we have seen in the past, there is ample opportunity for improved chemistry among the various lines.
On the face off over the years, the former Selkie Award winner has been consistent winning between 42 and 45 percent of the match ups. So he will continue to give the Golden Knights a chance to get off to a good start. The expectation for the upcoming season is that we will likely see these numbers improve. Cassidy has emphasized that the power play will be a major part of the team’s focus in training camp and early on in the season.
Overall, it is likely will see Marchessault have his best season of his career if the way the offensive game plan is shaping in Cassidy’s vision. Not only should we see an improvement for the veteran Golden Knight in terms of goals, assists and face offs, we should see his hits total return to what he had early on in his Vegas days and when he played with the Florida Panthers.
