The Vegas Golden Knights are tonight and are looking to get back in the winning column. The Golden Knights were shutout back-to-back games, then lost in OT to the Los Angeles Kings. Tonight, the Golden Knights will look to get back on the winning side of things against the San Jose Sharks.

The Golden Knights previously lost to the Calgary Flames 0-6, and then again against the Colorado Avalanche 0-2. Thursday night they took on the Los Angeles Kings and took it into overtime before losing 4-3. Now, the reason those loses mean so much is because in order to win the Stanley Cup, you have to be able to beat those types teams. The Knights have not proven that they can.

The Vegas Golden Knights are in a stacked pacific division and are going to be in a tough spot for the rest of the year. Finding ways to get in-division wins are going to be key in the Knights success and tonight they have a chance to do so.

So, looking ahead to this game, there is a lot of importance in more ways than one. The Knights are currently ranked second in the pacific division behind the Flames, but not much further behind them is the Los Angeles Kings. Tonight they get to take on one of the easier teams in the pacific with the Sharks so hopefully this game works out well.

Looking at some of the players, Eichel was just activated prior to the game against the Avalanche on Tuesday, and has started knocking off the rust. Despite losing against the Kings, Eichel was able to collect his first point as a Vegas Golden Knight with an assist to Max Pacioretty which brings me to my next point.

Looking ahead to tonight’s game, Eichel has a couple games under his belt, and Max Pacioretty is coming off a two-goal night. Given the fact that those two are getting going, this should be a pretty good game for the Knights.

So, let’s take a look at what the lines could look like tonight against the San Jose Sharks.

Los Angeles Kings vs Vegas Golden Knights Injury Updates

Alec Martinez: Out for tonight’s game against the Los Angeles Kings. The Golden Knights defenseman has missed multiple games due to injury and things aren’t looking great as far as a return this season goes. Reports state that every step forward he takes, he takes two steps back. His return is still not known.

Nolan Patrick: The Vegas Golden Knights forward is more than likely going to be out for a couple games after the hit he suffered from Nathan MacKinnon. Given his injury history, things don’t look good. We don’t have an update from the organization regarding Patrick’s availability, but we can assume that he’ll be out for probably a week or so.

Robin Lehner: The only real update we have regarding Robin Lehner’s availability and return is that he will return sooner rather than later. When that is, we don’t really know. But hopefully it’s not too long. In the meantime, the Knights will run a goalie tandem of Laurent Brossoit and Logan Thompson.
