The Vegas Golden Knights are currently ranked second in the pacific division behind the Calgary Flames. At this point in the season, there are no excuses- you have to find ways to win in-division games when you get them. Unfortunately for the Knights, things aren’t going to get any easier.

Last week the Calgary Flames acquired forward, Tyler Toffoli from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for a first-round pick, 2024 fifth-round pick, Emil Heineman, and Tyler Pitlick. That trade improved the Flames’ chances this season which doesn’t bode well for the Knights.

Last year in the Canadiens playoff run, Toffoli was one of the best players on the ice without a doubt. Now he is on a Calgary team that is already stacked with some very talented, young players. As you can probably infer- things are going to get much harder for the Knights to win the Pacific.

The Knights have played the Flames twice so far this season. However, if you recall in their most recent game, there was nothing pretty about it. The Knights were shutout 0-6 in a terrible loss. But it get’s worse.

That loss, even as bad as it was, was before they traded for Toffoli. With that acquisition, things are going to get a lot tougher for not just the Knights, but the entire league.

The Vegas Golden Knights are in a tough division, and finding ways to get wins is going to be crucial to the success for the remainder of the season. More so, they have to find a way to beat teams in their division.

The Knights just faced the Los Angeles Kings, and a game against the San Jose Sharks on Sunday and getting those wins are vital from this point on. Should they be easy wins? Yes. However, they should not walk into the game thinking those are easy wins.
