Vegas Golden Knights: Could Zach Whitecloud Miss Some More Time?
The Vegas Golden Knights are in a terrible situation right now. They are currently dealing with injuries from some of their most important and impactful players. It’s never easy from a morale standpoint having to deal with losing those key guys, but more so than that, it’s left them without some of their most productive players.
Things are starting to look up though with some of the Vegas Golden Knights key players close to returning. They were able to gain captain, Mark Stone, back against the Vancouver Canucks which was a huge boost for the Knights. However, right as things started to turn around, things look to get worse.
The Vegas Golden Knights have had a rough go thus far into the season when dealing with injuries. The problem in this scenario isn’t dealing with the injuries but who is getting hurt. Things have started to look up over the course of the past week or two, but things are starting to go the wrong way again.
During the Columbus Blue Jackets vs Vegas Golden Knights game, defenseman, Zach Whitecloud, ended up leaving the game early after blocking a shot. Now, he did come back into the game in the third period, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he is healthy.
During the game, all these players want to do is continue playing the game they love. This is their life, this is what they enjoy doing and they want to help their team win. So, although Whitecloud came back, things could be worse than the seem.
Looking back to the game against the Los Angeles Kings, Max Pacioretty ended up finishing the game while dealing with a fractured foot. Now, Max Pacioretty probably holds more value to the organization than Whitecloud, but that doesn’t change the fact that they probably just want to finish the game. Could that be the same for Zach Whitecloud?
Usually, I wouldn’t actually read to much into this. However, the last time Whitecloud left the game early, it was due to a blocked shot. So could he miss more time? Not sure. Things look to be okay right now, but something to keep an eye on going forward.
