The Vegas Golden Knights lost to the Carolina Hurricanes after going down 2-0 to start the game. The Knights allowed two firs period goals including a power play goal by the Hurricanes, the Knights found their way back in the second. Unfortunately, there isn’t a lot of hope left on this Vegas Golden Knights team. There are now some pressing issues that need to be addressed.

There are some concerns with the Vegas Golden Knights that I’m sure people are going to question. After showing signs of possibly being able to make a comeback against one of the best teams in the National Hockey League, the Knights are once again dealing with some injuries during the game.

There have been two close calls in this game against the Carolina Hurricanes. The Vegas Golden Knights have shown that they should never be counted out, but this doesn’t appear that it’s going to be one of those games.

During the beginning of the third period there was a slap shot opportunity from the Carolina Hurricanes that left forward, Brett Howden, compromised. Howden, although he did finish his shift, was in an extreme amount of discomfort and it was written all over his face.

The question wasn’t rather or not Howden was going to finish the game but what his future availability looks. Most players seem to finish the game and then take maintenance days leading up to their next game. For Example, Max Pacioretty, Chandler Stephenson, Mattias Janmark, William Carrier.

These players are just simply wired differently than most people can even fathom. Howden was able to come back in, but as I stated above, it doesn’t necessarily that he won’t miss time going forward. However, there is arguably a more important player that could miss some time: Shea Theodore.

In a non-contact play, Shea Theodore found himself dropping to the ground in agony. Very slow to get up off the ice, he looked to be in a ton of pain. After the trainer came out to talk to him, the Vegas Golden Knights saw their star defenseman get up and skate off the ice by himself before heading straight to the locker room.

Since that point there has been no update. The only update that I can currently give you is that he will not return to this game. Looking forward I’ll make sure I give you guys updates so you can stay just as informed as I. But, for right now, I’d say things aren’t looking good for Theodore.
