The Vegas Golden Knights have been dealing with injuries since the beginning of the season. They have lost multiple key players what seems like, every day. To be quite honest with you, I’m not too sure how the Vegas Golden Knights are still winning and putting up the same numbers that they have.
When you have to deal with injuries to some of your teams most valuable players, it’s never easy. More so than that, going on a four game losing streak in which the fans started to lose faith in what this team could accomplish. However, as I stated above, They’ve managed to stay winning. How much longer this can be sustained? It’s hard to tell. How much longer are they going to fight? Until the season’s over.
That question about rather or not they can stay winning would’ve been a yes if you would’ve asked me yesterday. But, after some very unfortunate reports this morning, I don’t think it will stay that way.
Right when you think that things can’t get any worse for the Vegas Golden Knights organization, things seems to get worse. It’s part of the game but things are simply getting out of hand.
It was reported this morning by the Vegas Golden Knights official twitter page that star winger, Jonathan Marchessault, was placed on the Covid-19 list. Only a couple days ago, he was at the Las Vegas Raiders football game with William Karlsson, and Robin Lehner. Now, one of the only bright spots this season is out for the foreseeable future.
Now, I’d like to know how Marchessault was the only one who caught it despite him being with Lehner and Karlsson all game-It’s confusing to me. That’s not the point though. The point is that the Vegas Golden Knights are now without their star winger for the next couple games at least. What sucks even more so than anything is this is going to be one of the hardest games of the season and he is out.
So with all of that being said, the Vegas Golden Knights needed to make a corresponding move which is: Paul Cotter.
After Paul Cotter got called up and obtained his first career NHL goal, he was then sent down over the weekend to play for the Henderson Knights. However, I think it was just to keep him ready to go and get more games under his belt. Nonetheless, Cotter was re-called this morning along with wing, Sven Baertschi.
Given the Vegas Golden Knights lack of forward depth, I’d assume that both of them will be in the lineup tonight. Although, the lineup is not confirmed tonight, so I do want to stress that it’s currently all based upon speculation.
