The Vegas Golden Knights unfortunate turn of events seems to be coming back around-but not in the way you think. After having to face a plethora of injuries to start the season, the Vegas Golden Knights seem to have a little bit of light shining through the cracks.

After losing their captain, Mark Stone, and alternate, Max Pacioretty, against the Los Angeles Kings, there was a huge loss to their morale. There have been a lot of updates going around, mostly bad, but they finally got some good news. After not making an appearance since October 14th, the Vegas Golden Knights captain, Mark Stone, made his return to the ice yesterday.

Stone left the Los Angeles Kings game early after taking a one legged shot. The game against the Kings was quite the blowout but, when you lose two players that you game-plan around, how can you not feel a lack of confidence in that moment. So with that being said, being able to have Stone back out there on the ice meant a lot to the players.

However, as for any player who want’s to play at the NHL level, you have to be healthy enough to play. Similarly, you have to be healthy enough to play and compete at the NHL level.

With that, let’s take a look into Mark Stone’s return to the ice and how he fared against Pacific Division rival, the Vancouver Canucks.

The Vegas Golden Knights Captain, Mark Stone, hasn’t played since October 14th against the Los Angeles Kings. After missing 12 games, the Knights captain is back. How did he fare against the Vancouver Canucks? We’ll let’s take a look at his performance.

Mark Stone is the captain, and that isn’t just given to a player-it’s earned. Having the guy who leads your team out is never easy to manage or handle, and I’m sure the locker room had a lot of energy going into the game.

Stone had a very solid game when all things are considered. He had the late assist to Evgenii Dadonov to put the Vegas Golden Knights in a much better situation to win. He didn’t really do much outside of that assist, but he also definitely didn’t hurt the Knights by any stretch.

He was skating well, making plays along the boards, and made a couple very nice breakout passes in transition. To go along with that, he was able to not just manage but succeed, in the roles that he had prior to the injury. Maybe that doesn’t seem like anything crazy but that shows me that he is in fact, ready to return.

He’s been skating for awhile if the timeline sticks the way I think it did. However, after hearing head coach, Pete DeBoer, say that he was still quite far out from making his return-I wasn’t expecting him to return two days later.

Regardless, it was nice being able to see Stone back out there with the Vegas Golden Knights sweater on. Hopefully as he get’s more comfortable back out there we can start seeing even more production from him, but this was a very good stepping stone.
