The Vegas Golden Knights have had a roller coaster ride when it comes to the mention of Jack Eichel. However, it was just reported that the Knights and Flames are “at the one-yard line” to acquire Eichel.

The Vegas Knights have always had the mindset to go out and get the big name. Even when you look back to when they first became an official NHL team, the Knights were very persistent on going out and getting the big names. Going back they went out and got: Marc-Andre Fleury, Max Pacioretty, and Mark Stone. Now they are in trade talks with the Sabres to acquire superstar, Jack Eichel.

After losing to the Toronto Maple Leafs in a 4-0 blowout, it was then reported by Emily Kaplan during ESPN’s intermission report that trade talks are getting close. There is no update on what the trade is currently looking like, but based upon the presentation, it appears it’s going to be a very hefty package. Which, if we are all being honest, isn’t really much of a surprise. However, because I know that you guys are going to be curious what she actually stated:

“She stated that the trade was on the “one-yard line” which means that the trade is currently down to the wire and in a bidding war. The two teams that are down to the wire are currently the Vegas Knights, and the Calgary Flames. ”

The Vegas Knights and the Calgary Flames have been battling it out for the last couple weeks, but there hasn’t really been much advancement in the past week other than it’s a bidding war. If the Knights do end up acquiring Jack Eichel from Buffalo, they will not only be able to get a star center to pair with Stone and/or Pacioretty, but also gives them a prolonged future.

The Knights are a winning organization, and they are known for making those big moves. They won’t tolerate a losing season if they can help it which makes me think that we’ll be seeing Jack Eichel heading to Vegas very soon.
