The Vegas Knights season is nearing, and with that comes NHL Fantasy. However, where do the Knights players stand with their fantasy value?

The Vegas Knights are one of the biggest powerhouses in the NHL, and unfortunately, that means that you probably won’t be able to get all of your favorite Knight players. However, with that being said, that’s a good thing for people who don’t play fantasy. In seriousness, it’s actually a great thing that it will be hard to get multiple Knights players this year. The Knights quite literally have seven players who are all top 100 players this year.

So with all that being said, I wanted to give you guys my rankings and draft guide for this upcoming season. Now, there will be disagreements on where I have some of these players ranked and how I go about giving out this information, but bare with me. So, because I know everyone has different approaches when it comes to Fantasy, here is what I will be basing my rankings and draft guide off of:

  1. The rankings I am using is based off of my Rankings
  2. When I give you the round in which you should target the players, it’s dependent on how the rest of your draft is going prior too.

With all that being said, lets jump in.

Alec Martinez, D

ESPN Ranking: 15

Ranking: 18

Where to draft them: Second/Late second-round

Reasoning: Alec Martinez is one of the best fantasy defenseman in the NHL. He plays a very good offensive game and plays a great defensive game as well. Martinez and the Knights had a shorter season last year, but still found a way to dominate the league. Martinez played in 53 games last season in which he put up nine goals, 23 assists, a +/- of +26. Along with that, he also put up great defensive number as well. He had 168 blocks, 44 hits, and 12 takeaways.

Mark Stone, F

ESPN Ranking: 52

Ranking: 36

Where to draft them: Late second-round/Early third-round

Reasoning: Mark Stone has been known as one of the best wing’s in hockey for years now, and it doesn’t appear he has any plans of slowing down. Last season in Fantasy he was ranked as the fourth right wing, which puts him ahead of Patrick Kane, David Pastrnak, and Blake Wheeler. Stone will perform no matter what, his reliability alone makes him a top player in your fantasy league.

Shea Theodore, D

ESPN Ranking: 74

Ranking: 40

Where to draft them: Mid/Late third-round

Reasoning: Shea Theodore is one of the more underrated defenseman in the league. Theodore who finished as the 25th ranked defenseman last year was able to put up eight goals, 34 assists, and had a +/- of 28 last season. With more execution on his shots, he can take the league by storm in the upcoming season.

Robin Lehner, G

ESPN Ranking: 22

Ranking: 57

Where to draft them: Mid/Late sixth-round

Reasoning: So, Robin Lehner. Lehner is a very good goalie but for fantasy purposes, I’m a believer that taking a goalie early on in your draft is a mistake. I feel getting star production from forwards and defenseman is going to be more important that drafting a goalie early on. I think the middle of the draft is the correct time to take a goalie like Lehner, but he’s not worth taking early on. The outlook on Lehner is good, but he is not worth a top pick in the draft.

Max Pacioretty, F

ESPN Ranking: 88

Ranking: 63

Where to draft them: Early sixth-round

Reasoning: Max Pacioretty is one of the best wings in the NHL, but his value still is low. After missing a couple games last season, I value people who play in all 82 games over production. Pacioretty is one of the most productive players in the league even after missing five games last season. Pacioretty had 24 goals, 27 assists, with a +/- of +20.

Alex Pietangelo, D

ESPN Ranking: 99

Ranking: 71

Where to draft them: Mid seventh-round

Reasoning: Alex Pietrangelo has always seemed to be one of the more productive defenseman in the league, but had a down year last year. Pietrangelo missed 13 games last season but still finished the 2020-21 season with seven goals, 16 assists, and had a +/- of 20. Pietrangelo, if healthy, will have a bounce back year this year and reclaim his original position as a top defenseman in the NHL.

Jonathan Marchessault, F

ESPN Ranking: 124

Ranking: 114

Where to draft them: Late 11th-Round

William Karlsson, F

ESPN Ranking: 140

Ranking: 123

Where to draft them: Mid 13th-round
