Game 3 is going to be a big one for the Vegas Golden Knights.

We have ourselves a series in the Western Conference Final after the Vegas Golden Knights beat the Dallas Stars in Game 2 on Tuesday.

That sets up a huge and pivotal Game 3 for both teams and it is a contest that could have a large say in how this series unfolds.

The Skinny

The Golden Knights needed to answer the bell in Game 2 and they did so in a big way.

Robin Lehner pitched his fourth shutout of the postseason with 24 saves but, more importantly, the offense woke up for Vegas.

Paul Stastny, William Karlsson and Tomas Nosek all lit the lamp as the Knights got the job done against the Stars.

Game 3 will be a different story, however, with the stakes even higher as both teams go in search of what could be a crucial win.

We’ve seen the strengths and the weaknesses of the Golden Knights and the Stars in the first two games of the Western Conference Final, and we’ve also seen that Dallas is a step up in opponent for Vegas.

They forecheck incredibly well, they have good goaltending, they are stacked up and down the lineup and they also boast an absolute stud on the blueline in Miro Heiskanen.

So the Golden Knights will need to sharpen up, iron out a few kinks, get to work on the power play and play at the peak of their powers from here on out if they are to advance through to the Stanley Cup Final.

Dallas will have the home-ice advantage and the last change for tonight’s game.

Bring on Game 3 because it is all set up to be an absolute doozy.

Prediction

1. 942. 0. 119. Final/OT

I think this is going to be a game dominated by the goalies once again, and it will also be a game where both teams struggle to generate offense, as has been the case in this series so far.

But, in saying that, it will be one of the Golden Knights’ big hitters in Mark Stone who will deliver the goods in Overtime to take Game 3 for Vegas.

Next. VGK make it a series with huge win. dark
