2. Knights want to win now

This is an obvious one but Monday was another clear sign that the Vegas Golden Knights are in it to win it and they want to win now.

That has become pretty apparent since the Knights took the NHL by storm in 2017, and they’ve made a bevy of moves ever since.

They went all out for both Max Pacioretty and Mark Stone last year, trading for the two elite forwards before re-signing them to monster deals.

Then, with the pressure on this year after not quite living up to their potential, the Golden Knights once again pushed their chips into the middle of the table.

First there was the stunning trade for Robin Lehner who, along with Marc-Andre Fleury, now makes up one of the best goaltending tandems in the NHL.

Vegas then addressed their lack of secondary scoring by acquiring Nick Cousins from the Montreal Canadiens, and the Swiss-Army Knife type player also brings a lot more to the table for the Knights.

Overall, the Golden Knights improved in a number of areas but, most importantly, they addressed their goaltending which had been subpar this year.

They now boast two goalies who can get the job done on any given night and are clearly buying into the old saying that you can’t win championships without elite goaltending.
