Vegas Golden Knights: Stephenson the hero in breathtaking comeback win
Three Stars of the Game
- Chandler Stephenson is a clear choice for our First Star of the Game, and he was also the official First Star of the Game. I mean, he scored the game-winner in overtime after stripping the puck from Robert Thomas, while he also made a big play in the second period that allowed Reilly Smith to give Vegas the lead. A huge game from Stephenson, who now has five goals and four assists for nine points for the Knights.
- Nic Hague enjoyed arguably his best game as a Vegas Golden Knights player in the National Hockey League. The defenseman finished the night with a plus/minus rating of +2 and two assists, including the primary helper on Nicolas Roy’s goal in the third period. Hague is looking more and more comfortable in the NHL, and this was a really encouraging outing from the defenseman.
- Nick Holden may seem a strange choice for my Third Star of the Game given that he finished without a point, but it was arguably his play that helped change the game for the Vegas Golden Knights. With St. Louis 3-0 up, Marc-Andre Fleury made another big save but the puck took a bounce off the goalie and looked to be heading in, until Holden got to the net and hooked the puck off the line. That changed the game.

Looking Ahead
The Vegas Golden Knights have now won four straight and they have three games left on this current long homestand.
Next up for the Knights is a tough matchup against the Pittsburgh Penguins who visit T-Mobile Arena on Tuesday, before the LA Kings and the Columbus Blue Jackets come into town at the end of the week.
