We are now well and truly living life in 2020 and the Vegas Golden Knights will have a number of prospects in action today as the 2020 World Junior Championships cranks up a gear.

As we all recover from the holiday season, the Vegas Golden Knights will be watching events unfold closely in the Czech Republic today.

Because we are at the stage where the 2020 World Junior Championships are really starting to hot up, with all five Quarter-Final ties taking place throughout the course of the day.

And the Golden Knights will have three prospects involved as Pavel Dorofeyev and Ivan Morozov prepare to help Team Russia advance, while Isaiah Saville will be hoping to see some ice time finally for Team USA.

Let’s start with Team Russia. They will faceoff against Switzerland for a place in the Semi-Finals, fresh off the back of a convincing thumping of Germany on New Year’s Eve.

Team Russia look the most dangerous team at the tournament and they have been helped by Dorofeyev and Morozov, who have both played their part.

Morozov has tallied one assist in four games with a +1 rating, while Dorofeyev has been more productive with three goals for three points and a +1 rating in four games.

Both players should continue to play a big part for Team Russia as they look to go all the way and capture glory on the big stage.

For Team USA, they are in one of the later games against Finland and they too will be hoping to progress given the abundance of riches they boast on their roster.

For starters, they have the leading points scorer at the entire tournament in Trevor Zegras, who leads the way with nine points (nine assists), while forward Shane Pinto is third with seven points (four goals, three assists).

But it may well be another frustrating day for Vegas Golden Knights prospect Isaiah Saville, who has yet to even dress this tournament let alone see any ice time.

The goalie has been behind Dustin Wolf and Spencer Knight on the depth chart, with the latter one of the most highly-rated goalie prospects in recent years having been taken 13th overall by the Florida Panthers in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.

It is likely that Team USA will go with Knight the rest of the way given his pedigree and superior experience, but it will still be a good experience for Saville to be involved in such a prestigious tournament nonetheless.
