The Vegas Golden Knights may not have been around for the entire Decade but they certainly made up for that by dishing out unforgettable moments and highlights.

Entering the National Hockey League in 2017, the Vegas Golden Knights have weaved a magical and unbelievable story fit for the silver screen.

As 2019 comes to a close, we decided to run through the best moments of the Decade for the NHL’s most successful expansion team…

5. Knights avoid Sophomore slump

After embarking on an unbelievable inaugural year in the NHL, making it all the way to the Stanley Cup Final (more on that later), many expected the Vegas Golden Knights to drop off considerable during their second year as a franchise.

But, and while it may not have been as plain sailing as the year before, the Knights continued to shock and impress in equal measure.

They didn’t pummel teams in the same manner as they did in 2017-18 with the surprise factor having worn off, but they still made the postseason for the second consecutive year.

Granted, Vegas’ second year ended in heartbreaking and disappointing fashion to bitter rivals the San Jose Sharks in the First Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but the team proved that they meant business and were not going away anytime soon.

It was also another important year for the franchise off the ice as they continued to ingrain themselves in the community, while establishing themselves as a legit powerhouse in the hockey world.

Although few would have been surprised, a real regression in 2018-19 would have hindered the growth of this franchise, so it was vitally important that the Vegas Golden Knights were again a real contender.
