Tonight sees a quick reunion between the Vegas Golden Knights and the Vancouver Canucks, who did battle on Sunday night at T-Mobile Arena.

The Vegas Golden Knights came out on top in that contest after hammering the Canucks 6-3, thanks in large to the red hot Max Pacioretty who had himself a four point night.

And the Knights will be looking to heap more misery on the Canucks at Rogers Arena tonight (7:00 p.m. PT), with Vancouver currently on a three-game slide.

Vegas, meanwhile, are starting to find their groove right now and they come into tonight’s game looking for a fourth straight win.

Let’s delve into some storylines to look out for in this matchup…

Storyline 1 – Revenge game

As already mentioned, the Vegas Golden Knights taught the Vancouver Canucks a lesson or two at T-Mobile Arena on Sunday.

Vegas cruised to a 6-3 win with Max Pacioretty helping himself to a four-point night, so the Canucks will be out for revenge tonight.

And they will have added motivation given that they are currently on a three-game slide, which isn’t ideal given how tightly contested this Pacific Division is.

Back on home ice in-front of their own fans, the Canucks will be looking to put on a show and gain a small measure of revenge over the Golden Knights.

Storyline 2 – Red hot Pacioretty

Max Pacioretty is on an absolute tear right now. The forward leads the Golden Knights in points with 36 (15 goals, 21 assists), and he’s on pace to achieve career-highs in a number of categories.

And Pacioretty was red hot against the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday, finishing with two goals and two assists for a four-point night.

He tormented the Canucks all game and the Knights will need to ensure that they keep putting the puck on Pacioretty’s stick in dangerous areas tonight.

Storyline 3 – Do it for the dads

Tonight’s game marks the start of the Vegas Golden Knights’ annual Fathers Trip, which is a staple throughout the National Hockey League.

It allows the players to spend some quality time with their dads, while giving the fathers the chance to see their sons do what they do best up close and personal.

And here’s an interesting one for you; the Knights are a perfect 4-0-0 during four Father Trips over two seasons, and they will be hoping to keep that record going tonight.

Storyline 4 – Watch out for Vancouver’s young guns

The Canucks are an interesting case study this year.

They are still going through a rebuild, albeit in the latter stages, but they do boast a lot of talent which leads to some thinking that this team should be punching a little bit higher.

After all, the Canucks do boast an exciting young core headline by phenom Elias Pettersson who has 35 points (14 goals, 21 assists) in 35 games, while Brock Boeser has 31 points on the year.

And then there is rookie sensation Quinn Hughes who is currently battling with Colorado Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar for the Calder Trophy.

Hughes is a modern-day offensive defenseman and he has recorded 26 points (two goals, 24 assists) through 34 games, with 14 of those points coming on the power play.
