The Vegas Golden Knights aren’t strangers to historic feats, but what is the franchise’s longest winning streak?

By now, most NHL fans alike are aware that the Vegas Golden Knights aren’t off to the same overachieving start that they displayed the past two seasons.

With Vegas experiencing a few more losing streaks than what the Golden Knights are used to since the team’s inception back in 2017-18, it’s brought FanSided to reflect on a unique question.

What’s the Golden Knights’ longest winning streak in franchise history?

Unfortunately, for Vegas, the feat isn’t from this season. The Golden Knights’ longest winning streak this season is four games, which recently took place from Nov. 27 until Dec. 3. In fact, aside from the recent winning streak, the Golden Knights failed to win more than two games in a row all season.

Vegas’ longest winning streak was accomplished in 2017-18, after head coach Gerard Gallant’s squad won eight games in a row from Dec. 14, 2017, until Jan. 2, 2018. After defeating the likes of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Florida Panthers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Washington Capitals, Pittsburgh Penguins out east; the Golden Knights then took down three Western Conference opponents in the Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks and  Nashville Predators.

The expansion Golden Knights outscored its opponents 30-12 while goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury recorded two shutouts in the process. Keep in mind that only two of those victories were away from the Sin City, which both took place in Southern California. Also, only one of the eight wins entailed overtime – a 3-2 win over Los Angeles.

Oddly enough, Vegas never managed to win more than three games in a row for the remainder of that magical season after the historic winning streak. Still, Vegas accomplished the impossible when the Golden Knights advanced to the 2017-18 Stanley Cup Final; while winning 12 out of 15 games leading up to Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Washington Capitals.
