Three years into existence the Vegas Golden Knights are still contenders and with a similar roster to the team’s original lineup.

There’s no doubting that the Vegas Golden Knights are still an enigma after the expansion franchise took all professional sports by storm in 2017-18. The Golden Knights set the standard for future newcomers in not only the NHL but the other three major sports when Vegas advanced to the 2017-18 Stanley Cup final.

With that being said, it’s also intriguing that the Knights still have a number of skaters on its current roster from the 2017 expansion draft.

FanSided takes a look at the list of original Golden Knights who are still contributing to Sin City, to date.

Out of the 30 skaters selected by Vegas during the expansion draft, 13 are still on the team’s active roster.

At the time of writing, Vegas enters the first weekend of December with a 15-11-5 record and is positioned in seventh place for the Western Conference standings. While the team has added assets such as forwards Max Pacioretty and Paul Stastny since the memorable 2017-18 team, the names above are still producing for the Cinderella story.

Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury is proving that he’s still an elite NHL goaltender when he’s healthy;  Marchessault and Karlsson continue to light the lamp while forcing their former respective teams to shake their heads at the fact that they exposed those two.

Most chuckled at Vegas owner, Bill Foley when he predicted that the team would capture a Stanley Cup during the franchise’s first five seasons; however, his all-in approach doesn’t seem far off as of 2019-20.
