Momentum is key in any sport and the Vegas Golden Knights have certainly got that on their side after beating the New Jersey Devils 4-3 at the Prudential Center on Tuesday.

It was a fourth straight victory for the Vegas Golden Knights who are rolling right now, and they are a perfect 2-0-0 on this road trip with one game left.

However, it wasn’t straightforward for the Knights who were outshot, outscored and out-dominated by the New Jersey Devils in the first period, who had fired Head Coach John Hynes hours before faceoff.

Interim Head Coach Alain Nasreddine would have been happy with the response from his team, who led going into the second period thanks to Kyle Palmieri‘s 10th goal of the year.

Good teams come back, though, and Chandler Stephenson scored on his Vegas debut to tie the game, capping off what was a crazy 24 hours for the forward who was acquired in a trade from the Washington Capitals on Monday.

New Jersey struck back, however, and took the lead again after Jesper Bratt cranked a one-timer past Malcolm Subban.

The Devils had not planned for the Jonathan Marchessault show and the forward went on an absolute tear in the third period, completing his natural hat trick to put the Knights in the driving seat.

To give them their due, New Jersey didn’t go down without a fight as Nico Hischier made it a one-goal game with 10 minutes to play, but the Golden Knights held on to rack up a fourth consecutive win.

Let’s dive into some takeaways from the Vegas Golden Knights’ 4-3 win over the New Jersey Devils…
