2. Lack of Offense
There were many factors that went into the Vegas Golden Knights dropping a big game to the Edmonton Oilers, but arguably the biggest one was the lack of offense.
The Knights only generated 27 shots and they didn’t get nearly enough pucks on net with Mike Smith having a fairly easy night in net.
Generally, Vegas have created a plethora of high-danger chances this year but they have struggled to add that finishing touch, which has cost them on countless occasions.
And they really lacked that killer instinct against the Oilers, with none of the Knights’ big hitters able to get the puck past Smith.
It is a growing concern for the Golden Knights who are currently ranked 16th in the NHL in Goals For Per Game with a percentage of 2.92.
They also rank 25th in shooting percentage and there is no clear answer as to why the Golden Knights can’t put the puck in the net despite creating plenty of chances.
It cost them against the Edmonton Oilers and it is something that will need to be addressed soon if the Vegas Golden Knights have aspirations of going on a deep postseason run.
