Vegas Golden Knights: Main Takeaways from fifth straight loss in LA

1. Golden Knights Getting There

Yes, it was a fifth straight loss and, yes, the Vegas Golden Knights have now dropped seven of their last eight and are sitting closer to the bottom of the Pacific Division than they are to the top of it.

However, this was a much better effort from Vegas and there were signs in last night’s game that suggests they aren’t that far away from breaking this slump.

After all, they did dominate puck possession and outshot the Kings by a total of 31-25, including 14-8 in the first period.

They generated a number of high-danger scoring chances and tested Jonathan Quick plenty, but they just came up short.

Vegas also showed an abundance of character and grit to haul themselves back into the contest, although they just lacked that killer instinct to make it mission complete after making it a tied game.

But, all in all, there were plenty of encouraging signs to show that the Golden Knights are starting to find their groove again and, if they play like they did on Saturday, it shouldn’t be too long before they break out of this slump.
