The Vegas Golden Knights needed a bounceback performance and they certainly got one in a 6-2 rout of the Calgary Flames on Saturday night.

After dropping back-to-back games against the Boston Bruins and the Arizona Coyotes in the week, the Vegas Golden Knights claimed a huge divisional win by cruising to a comfortable victory against the Flames.

Tomas Nosek responded to calls for more secondary scoring by driving hard to the net, although goals in quick succession from Rasmus Andersson and Johnny Gaudreau put Calgary firmly in the driving seat.

But the Golden Knights has a proven track record when it comes to responding to adversity and they came right back at their guests and seized control of the game thanks to three unanswered goals from Mark Stone, William Carrier and Paul Stastny.

And tucks from Ryan Reaves and Cody Glass wrapped up a big win for the Golden Knights who improved to 3-2-0 on the year.

Here were our biggest takeaways from the win:

Depth scoring finally shines through

It was a big criticism of the team prior to Saturday’s game and certainly something we covered a lot.

But, credit where credit is due, the bottom six responded in emphatic fashion for the Vegas Golden Knights and they were the driving force behind this win.

William Carrier, Tomas Nosek and Ryan Reaves all contributed a goal with Nosek recording his third tuck of the year, while Carrier also tallied an assist to make it a two-point night.

It was a four-point night from the fourth line and they also laid on a combined nine hits on what was without doubt their best game of the year so far.

Valentin Zykov also got an assist on the third line while Cody Glass, now playing as the right wing on the third line after Cody Eakin returned to the lineup, picked up his second goal in the NHL and it was a big night for Vegas’ bottom six forward unit as a whole.
