Tonight is the second game of a back-to-back for the Vegas Golden Knights who will be looking to get the win on the road against the LA Kings.
After beating the Calgary Flames 6-2 last night at T-Mobile Arena, the Vegas Golden Knights will be hoping to claim their second win over a Pacific Division rival in as many days when they faceoff against the Kings later.
LA are coming off the high of beating Stanley Cup contender the Nashville Predators last night, with seven different scorers getting on the board in a 7-4 win at Staples Center.
It was an outstanding win for the Kings against elite opposition and they are 2-2-0 on the year after four games.
Anze Kopitar leads the way for LA with seven points (two goals, five assists) while eight players have recorded at least three points this year.
The Kings have a new Head Coach behind the bench in former Edmonton Oilers coach Todd McLellan, and he will be tasked with getting the best out of an aging roster while nurturing young talent from the farm system.
However, you know you are always going to get a tough and gritty test from the Kings and that will be no different tonight with these two teams having developed a rivalry over the last two and a bit years.
LA boast size throughout their lineup with Kopitar leading the line while Drew Doughty, who is extremely talented on the puck, can lay the body on and hit like an absolute train.
The key for Vegas tonight will be to set the tone early and they will rely on their fourth line – ‘The Power Line’ – featuring William Carrier, Tomas Nosek and Ryan Reaves to bring the physicality and give their team a jolt of energy from the get-go.
That line contributed a goal each against Calgary last night and the Golden Knights are going to need contributions from up and down their lineup again.
With Malcolm Subban day-to-day with an unspecified injury, Marc-Andre Fleury is set for his second consecutive start of the year with Oscar Dansk backing him up.
Here is the projected lineup for the Vegas Golden Knights tonight:
Marchessault-Karlsson-Smith
Pacioretty-Stastny-Stone
Zykov-Eakin-Glass
Carrier-Nosek-Reaves
McNabb-Theodore
Merrill-Holden
Hague-Engelland
Fleury

Tonight is an opportunity for the Vegas Golden Knights to wreak further havoc in the Pacific Division by claiming another divisional win for a second consecutive night, but they are going to have to be ready to go from the first drop of the puck against an LA Kings team brimming with confidence after an outstanding win themselves on Saturday.
