Here are some notes on the game and we will be breaking down our takeaways from the game on Friday…

  • Oscar Dansk was given his first start of the preseason and he impressed between the pipes, recording 36 saves from 38 shots, with the highlight-reel stop coming on a Drew Doughty one-timer which was stopped with the shoulder.
  • Cody Glass played on both the second line and top line in addition to getting time on the power play, and despite not recording a point, the stud rookie was sensational and created a slew of chances for his teammates in the second period. He was outstanding and it was an encouraging outing from the high-end prospect.
  • Mark Stone made his preseason debut and he looked locked in from the start, recording a goal and finishing the night with a plus/minus rating of +1 in 17:36 minutes of ice time, which included time on both the power play and on the penalty kill.
  • Jonathan Marchessault talled a two point night including the Overtime winner, and the forward finished with a plus/minus rating of +2 and looked sharp in 16:57 minutes of ice time.
  • Defenseman Deryk Engelland made his preseason debut and the veteran logged a monster 21:19 minutes of ice time, which was only bettered by rookie Nic Hague (22:08). Engelland finished the game with an assist.
  • William Karlsson was held out of the third period as a precaution, but the center is expected to practice on Friday which is positive news for the Golden Knights.
