It is starting to get real all of a sudden. Yes, the Vegas Golden Knights have today released details for Training Camp which means that hockey is finally on the cusp of returning.

Following the conclusion of Rookie Camp and the Anaheim Rookie Faceoff tournament, all eyes are now on Training Camp which opens this Thursday, and the Vegas Golden Knights have revealed their roster, full schedule and jersey numbers for 2019-20.

Although this isn’t quite the regular season yet, today feels almost like Thanksgiving Eve given the excitement that comes with the NHL returning to work and, as was the case last year, expectations are high for the Golden Knights coming into camp.

With a loaded roster featuring elite stars such as Mark Stone, Max Pacioretty, William Karlsson and Marc-Andre Fleury, this roster as it is currently constituted is built to win now and Training Camp coupled with preseason will allow this current crop of players to set the tone and lay the foundations for what will hopefully be a successful year ahead.

So, ahead of the players getting back down to business tomorrow, the Golden Knights have released a plethora of details, including the all-important schedule for what is to come over the next few weeks.

Firstly, the Knights will report to City National Arena on Thursday, September 12 for off-ice testing – which is closed to the public – and that will be followed by rookie practice at 3:00 p.m. PT. All practice sessions at City National Arena are open to the public, which is music to the ears of any fans desperate to satisfy their hockey cravings.

Then the good stuff will happen on Friday, September 13 when the full roster, which will be split into A, B and C teams take to the ice for practice for the very first time together this year, with a number of scrimmages set before the Knights take on the Arizona Coyotes in their preseason opener at T-Mobile Arena on Sunday, September 15 at 1:30 p.m. PT.

It is a packed preseason slate for Vegas with seven games in total, including tilts against the Colorado Avalanche, the LA Kings and the San Jose Sharks, before opening the 2019-20 regular season against the Sharks at T-Mobile Arena on Oct, 2.

Meanwhile, there are a few lesser-known names on the Training Camp roster including Jaycob Megna and Tyrell Goulbourne and, as already mentioned, we will be taking a closer look at some of those players this week.

Now, of course jersey numbers are jersey numbers but there were a few that caught the eye, including #9 for high-end rookie Cody Glass, #10 for Nicholas Roy who was acquired as part of the trade that sent Erik Haula to the Carolina Hurricanes this summer, and #18 for Peyton Krebs who was Vegas’ No. 17 overall pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.

Next. Golden Knights are set up to compete for years. dark

It is also important to note that all of the Vegas Golden Knights’ preseason contests will be broadcast locally on KTNV Channel 13 in Las Vegas, while all on-ice practice sessions at City National Arena will be open to the public.

That’s all the finer details covered and now all is left is for the players to actually hit the ice and start putting the hard miles in ahead of what they hope will be a successful 2019-20, resulting in the Stanley Cup coming back to Sin City.

All we know is that we are extremely thankful hockey is back!
