Why The Grade

This one is fairly obvious as it would be unfair to award a grade to a player who only made the one outing for the Golden Knights in 2018-19. It is far too small of a sample size to go by hence why we went with an ungraded mark for Maxime Lagace.

He was given an extended run the year before due to a slew of injuries but, as already mentioned, Oscar Dansk is considered the better goalie prospect and you will always struggle to nail down regular ice time when you have both Marc-Andre Fleury and Malcolm Subban healthy and at the peak of their powers.

Lagace’s lone outing with the Knights in 2018-19 was a rocky one as he stopped 27 shots but allowed four goals, with three of the four tucks ones the goalie would no doubt want back. The goals scored on him by Sebastian Aho and Brett Pesce were particularly bad looks for Lagace, who looked rusty and just couldn’t settle into a rhythm.

And that will unfortunately now be Golden Knights fans’ lasting memory of Lagace who is now a member of the Boston Bruins, but will almost certainly begin 2019-20 in the AHL with the Providence Bruins.
