Vegas Golden Knights 2019 NHL Draft: Complete First Round Draft Order
The Vegas Golden Knights will have the luxury of picking in the first round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft this weekend for the first time since 2017.
Cody Glass became the first ever draft pick in Vegas Golden Knights history when he was selected with the sixth overall pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
Last year the Knights didn’t have a pick until the second round when they opted to take forward Ivan D. Morozov with the No.61 selection.
It is a different story this weekend, however, as Vegas will have the chance to select a potential future face of the franchise with the No.17 pick.
There are plenty of options for the Golden Knights’ front office to choose from, with this year’s draft considered a deep one when it comes to stud forward prospects.
We all know by now that Jack Hughes, barring a gigantic shock, will be taken by the New Jersey Devils with the No.1 overall pick, with Kaapo Kakko going to the New York Rangers at No.2.
What happens from the No.3 pick down, however, is anybody’s guess with the Chicago Blackhawks spoilt for choice when it comes to selecting an absolute stud. The general consensus have the Hawks taking either two-way center Alex Turcotte or offensive defenseman Bowen Byram.
As already mentioned, this is a loaded draft and there are a glut of high-end centers as well as a plethora of intriguing blueliners that could be available in the second half of the first round.
All of the interest will surround the first round on Friday, although there will be a host of potential elite prospects available deep in the draft when rounds two through seven get underway on Saturday.

In terms of the Golden Knights, they have a slew of options when it comes to choosing the prospect they will use their No.17 pick on.
They could opt to replenish the forward cupboard with Cody Glass the only real high-end offensive talent within the farm system. It is a loaded draft when it comes to elite playmaker / scoring talent and it runs deep too, which is handy considering that the Knights will enter the draft armed with nine picks in total.
Could the Golden Knights use their first round selection on a defenseman? Thomas Harley shot up the rankings after enjoying a big season for Mississauga in the OHL, and he would bring size and sublime skating ability to the Vegas blueline.
Or, there is the possibility that Vegas decide to draft the long-term heir to the throne to Marc-Andre Fleury by selecting Spencer Knight, who is ranked as the number one goalie prospect in this draft and is touted to be a generational talent.
Our prediction? The Golden Knights are in need of more offensive talent and we think they could select center Ryan Suzuki. Does that name sound familiar? It will do because Ryan’s brother, Nick was of course drafted 13th overall by the franchise in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, before being traded to the Montreal Canadians as part of the deal that brought Max Pacioretty to Sin City.
All in all, the Vegas Golden Knights have a host of potential roads to go down when it comes to using their No.17 pick wisely, and we will be taking an in-depth look at some of the players they could take in the first round shortly.
Our 2019 NHL Entry Draft coverage officially starts now and we will be bringing you a host of content as we breakdown just what this weekend could look like for the Golden Knights. We will of course cover all the fallout too in the wake of the draft.
