At last, the Vegas Golden Knights schedule is here, and we have all of the dates.
Earlier in the week, the Vegas Golden Knights released their preseason dates for September. Yesterday, the NHL released the home opener’s of each NHL squad, including the Golden Knights. We found out that Vegas will take on the Philadelphia Flyers on October 4th at T-Mobile Arena.
Fans around the league wanted to see their teams full regular season schedule, and they got just that. The NHL released all schedules to the public today at 2 PM PT which has excited the NHL fan base immensely. As for Golden Knights fans, their team gets off to a fast start right out of the gate.
After starting the season at home against the Flyers, the team goes out on their longest roadtrip of the year. The five-game trip starts on October 6th in Minnesota, then it follows out to the east coast to Buffalo, Washington, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia.
Then the NHL’s newest franchise comes home for their longest homestand of the year for five games. Vegas start out their homestand playing the Sabres on October 16th followed by the Ducks, Canucks, Lightning, and Senators.
Vegas plays their first rivalry game against the San Jose Sharks on November 24th at the Fortress. The Golden Knights travel to the Staples Center to play the Kings for the first time in 2018-19 on December 8th. Speaking about Los Angeles, here’s an interesting fact about this years schedule.
The Golden Knights will play the Kings a total of five times this season. This is because of the uneven amount of teams in the league. Last season, the Golden Knights played the Coyotes five times and went 4-1-0 against their neighbors from the desert.
Additionally, the Capitals make their return to the place they won the cup in Las Vegas on December 4th. The Golden Knights won’t get their full revenge on the Caps unless they meet in the Cup Final in 2019. We’ve seen crazier situations before, and this one is entirely possible.
Last year, Vegas played ten back to back sets. This year, however, the Golden Knights play back to back 13 times this year. We’ll see how the team performs in more of a condensed schedule.
You can check out the full schedule here at the Vegas Golden Knights website. Remember fans, plan out your road trips early this year.
