The 2018-19 campaign for the Vegas Golden Knights is coming sooner than you think.

With the 2017-18 season officially in the history books for the Vegas Golden Knights, we now shift our focus to 2018-19. The team has yet to make a move to improve or upgrade their roster, but they should be one of the dominant forces in the Pacific division once again.

All the fans are asking about when the next season starts and when does the schedule come out. And today we got the answer we were looking for all along. The NHL has officially released the home openers for all 31 teams.

On Thursday, October 4th, 2018, Golden Knights regular season hockey is back in full effect at the Fortress. Vegas takes on Eastern Conference foe, the Philadelphia Flyers at T-Mobile Arena at 7 PM PT. And anybody knows who watched the Golden Knights play the Flyers last year; this team gave them fits.

The NHL’s newest franchise went 1-1-0 against the Broad Steet Bullies during 2017-18. The Golden Knights lost their first showdown against Philadelphia at T-Mobile Arena 4-1 back in mid-February.

Brayden McNabb scored the only goal of the game for the Golden Knights thanks to a snapshot from the point. Then the Flyers exploded for four unanswered goals, and the Golden Knights were never able to recover.

Sean Couturier, Tomas Konecny, and Claude Giroux all performed to their expectations. The trio registered two goals, five assists and a +6 rating in the game. Vegas had no answer for the Flyers top combo and couldn’t muster up any dangerous scoring chances. Michal Neuvirth saved 38 of 39 shots while Marc-Andre Fleury saved just 14 out of 17 shots and allowing three goals.

The Golden Knights got their revenge on the Flyers back at the Wells Fargo Center on March 12th. Fleury earned career win number 400 while also saving 38 of 40 shots in a 3-2 victory. With less than three minutes to go in the game, Ryan Carpenter got the last laugh putting one past Petr Mrazek and sinking Philly.

One of the top performers in this one was Shea Theodore who launched six shots on net all by himself. The young blueliner also notched an assist on William Karlsson’s power-play goal. And we can’t forget the strong performance Fleury made in this game against one of his biggest rivals.

The team will have to get on a plane quickly after their home opener against the Flyers because they’ll be making a pit stop in the State of Hockey. The Minnesota Wild open up their season on home ice against our Golden Knights on October 6th. And as we all know, the Wild were the only Western Conference team to have an undefeated 3-0 record against the Golden Knights this season.
