Vegas Golden Knights Calvin Pickard revealed his mask to the public, and it looks pretty snazzy.

The exciting time of the year is just around the corner Vegas Golden Knights fans; we’re almost there. Players are starting to file into the teams brand new practice facility called City National Arena in downtown Summerlin. All captains practices and training camp dates will be held at the state of the art building.

With training camp approaching, it may take a few more days to get the full squad to Nevada. But it’s an encouraging sign of the number of players that have shown up already. Ten players took the ice today such as Alex Tuch, Brayden McNabb, Cody Eakin, and Reid Duke.

However, one of the Golden Knights goaltenders stole the show on Monday with his arrival. Calvin Pickard reported for practice in style with his sick new cage. The Golden Knights gave the opportunity to the fans to design the mask of Pickard last month, and it looks like the 25-year old picked a winner.

Let’s start with the design features on the left side of the mask. It looks like we have a Knight swinging his sword and the statue of liberty along with the Eiffel tower indicating of the two major hotels on the Vegas strip, New York-New York, and Paris Las Vegas. We move to the right side of the mask and the coolest part of the whole design.

The secondary logo of the Golden Knights in the background with the five playing cards spelling out Pickard’s nick name “Picks.” I’m pleasantly surprised that the team allowed any gambling references on their equipment. Next is the top of the helmet, where we see the primary logo of the Vegas Golden Knights.

The back is hard to see, but it looks like the signature “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Nevada” sign and Red Rock Canyon. All in all, this is an incredible concept. This mask may be up there as one of the best in the league. Look at some of the pictures the Sinbin Twitter page and Vegas Golden Knights Instagram account posted.

Not only did the mask receive praise from around the league, but it also made the rounds on television in Las Vegas. FOX5Vegas showed a small snippet of Pickard showing off his new mask and smiling ear to ear. You can watch the video of Pickard going into the in-depth details of his new mask here.
