NHL Releases Vegas Golden Knights 2017-18 Regular Season Schedule
The Vegas Golden Knights have a roster, and now they know when they’re playing.
Can you imagine this Vegas Golden Knights fans? Look at all the obstacles that our owner Bill Foley had to conquer. Now here we are today, talking about the first hometown professional sports team playing its first game in Las Vegas in October.
Last night, our general manager George McPhee selected 30 NHL players and made nearly a dozen trades. McPhee wasn’t done wheeling and dealing today either. But when will our team be playing?
Amidst all the trade talk, the NHL released the regular season schedule to all 31 NHL clubs including our Vegas Golden Knights. The full 82 game set is jam packed with a ton of important dates. You can see the full schedule here.
Notable dates:
The first ever Vegas Golden Knights game will take place on October 6th in Dallas at 5:30 PM PT. The Golden Knights play their inaugural home opener against the Arizona Coyotes at 7 PM PT on October 10th. But that’s not all. The NHL’s newest franchise will go on a seven-game homestand from the 10th of October to the 27th.
The game on the 27th of October at T-Mobile Arena is against the Colorado Avalanche, and it has a special Nevada Day start time at 3 PM PT. The reigning defending Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins come to town on December 14th. The Golden Knights will also play the Penguins in Pittsburgh on February 6th. That game would be the emotional return of Marc-Andre Fleury to Pittsburgh.
Other dates include a ten game stretch with nine of those coming at T-Mobile Arena. That period lasts from February 11th to March 2nd. So nearly a full month of hockey in Vegas in the winter months of the year.
The final home game of the season is against the San Jose Sharks on March 31st. The Golden Knights will end their inaugural season on a three-game Western Canada road trip that ranges from April 3rd to the 7th.
