4. Joonas Korpisalo

Let’s be honest. In all probability, McPhee will probably want to take a young goaltender at some point in the expansion draft. Joonas Korpisalo would be a great selection if chosen by the Golden Knights.

In 2016-17, the 23-year old recorded a record of 7-5-1 with a 2.88 GAA and a .905 save percentage. Korpisalo didn’t play very much because starter Sergei Bobrovsky was on a season long tear. I believe with a little more playing time, Korpisalo could challenge for a starting spot on the Golden Knights.

I could see this one happening. Building around a young goalie is what’s needed in the long run for this franchise. The only problem with Korpisalo is his lack of experience in the net at the NHL level.

3. Eddie Lack

Things are getting complicated for the Carolina Hurricanes in the crease. And with the addition of Scott Darling and Cam Ward holding down the fort, there’s no doubt that Eddie Lack will be left exposed. This just reeks of the Vegas Golden Knights buying into the Carolina third-string netminder.

Lack finished the 2016-17 campaign with a record of 8-7-3, with a GAA of 2.64 and .902 save percentage. The 29-year-old Swedish goaltender had one decent season a few years ago with the Vancouver Canucks and just hasn’t lived up to the same success since. Perhaps a change of scenery is upcoming.

I could see Carolina try to expose of their dirty laundry to the Knights.  Something has to give for the Hurricanes in this situation, and I don’t think that it’ll be long til Lacks wearing another teams colors.
