The Vegas Golden Knights have finally come to terms on a television agreement.
A few weeks ago, the Vegas Golden Knights nailed down a deal with FOX Sports 1340/98.9 to allow fans to listen to radio broadcasts. That’s great news and all, but fans have been wanting to know how they will be able to watch their Golden Knights. Today, they finally found that out.
The Vegas Golden Knights have agreed to partner with the television network, ROOT SPORTS. ROOT SPORTS is now officially the exclusive home to Golden Knights hockey. The deal is reportedly a multi-year contract, and that’s good news for Vegas considering there was some doubt that there were networks only giving them short-term contracts. For those who don’t know ROOT SPORTS, they’re also the current homes for the Utah Jazz of the NBA, and Colorado Rockies of MLB.
The fans around the Rocky Mountain area will be able to watch the newest hockey team play. So people who live in Nevada, Wyoming, Utah, Montana, Idaho, and portions of Arizona and California are all in luck. That’s a huge advantage to grow your fan base by providing a ton of telecasts to out of state Golden Knights fans; I love that move.
There are also a ton of more additional details regarding this partnership with ROOT SPORTS. All Golden Knights games will be produced in HD and the network will provide pregame and postgame shows as well. Broadcast talent for Golden Knights games will be revealed at a later date. And of course per NHL policy, Knights games picked up by national networks (NBC, NBCSN) would not be aired on ROOT SPORTS.
Vegas Golden Knights Owner Bill Foley obviously has to be thrilled with the outcome of this partnership. The ability to grow the game not just in Nevada but other states like Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming is huge.
Another great feature that fans will love is the network will carry not just regular season games but some pre-season and playoff games as well. Not a ton of local networks brings that kind of coverage.

Bill Foley struck gold on this deal, and it may have been one of his best moves yet. The next thing that should be in place is hiring the staff that will assist Head Coach Gerard Gallant. Shortly after that, will come time for the big expansion draft that’s less than a month away. Exciting times are coming for Vegas hockey fans.
