The Vegas Golden Knights first-ever game will be in Vancouver.
After months and months of waiting, we finally know when the first Vegas Golden Knights game is. Well, sorta.
According to Steve Carp of the Las Vegas Review- Journal, the NHL’s 31st franchise’s preseason schedule is set and the team will open on September 17th in Vancouver. What a big day for the organization, even if its a preseason game. Who would’ve thought we would be talking about a preseason schedule for an NHL franchise in Vegas three years ago?
As a matter of fact, the Golden Knights first four preseason games are on the road. The Golden Knights don’t hit T-Mobile Arena til 9/26 against the Los Angeles Kings, which should be another historic day.
Although the preseason schedule looks like it’s ready to be announced publicly, it will have to wait for the NHL’s official approval. Here are all the dates for the Vegas Golden Knights tentative preseason schedule:
9/17 at Vancouver Canucks
9/19 at Colorado Avalanche
9/21 at San Jose Sharks
9/24 at Anaheim Ducks
9/26 Los Angeles Kings
9/28 Colorado Avalanche
10/1 San Jose Sharks
This is not what Golden Knights fans really want, but this is a little taste on whats on tap in the near future. The NHL will release it’s full regular season schedule at some point in June. Usually that news drops around or after the NHL Entry Draft.
Carp also mentions that the Knights will play a pair of rookie scrimmages on September 12th and 13th against Los Angeles in the Kings practice facility. You can read his full article here.
The Vegas Golden Knights will hold their first annual development camp at the Las Vegas Ice Center from June 27th to July 1st. However, the team has yet to announce practice times for these dates. The camp roster will be based off those who are selected in the NHL Entry Draft in June and rookie free agents as well.
