Three Stars of the Game
- Robin Lehner – He didn’t have to make any real highlight-reel saves, apart from a sublime glove stop on Travis Zajac in the opening minute of the contest, but Robin Lehner stopped all 27 shots fired at him and he offers the Golden Knights a real steady presence. He tracks the puck incredibly well, he reacts in a flash and he was rewarded with his first shutout as a member of the Golden Knights.
- Max Pacioretty – The forward has been lights out all year for the Golden Knights and he continues to step up to the plate in Mark Stone‘s absence. Pacioretty recorded a two-point night, including his 31st goal of the year, and the wing now leads Vegas in points with 65. This was another stellar outing from Max Pacioretty in a year full of them.
- William Karlsson – What a night for everyone’s favorite Wild Bill. Having elevated his game in recent weeks, Karlsson registered a two-point night and he also achieved a milestone after recording the 100th goal of his National Hockey League career. Karlsson also had a highlight-reel play as he put a sublime no-look pass straight on the tape of Max Pacioretty’s stick, who did the rest. It was the perfect illustration of the vision and the skill that William Karlsson has in abundance.
Looking Ahead
The Vegas Golden Knights get a brief chance to breath before taking on the Winnipeg Jets on the road on Friday.
That is the first game of a three-game road trip in Canada, which concludes with a crucial back-to-back against the Calgary Flames and the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
